We were on a walk alone, and he was holding my hand, and he just said, "I love you, but my involvement with the Army is hurting you and holding you back. I think we should just be friends." And he never let go of my hand. We both got over the relationship fairly quickly, and to this day, he's still one of my very best friends. Probably the most "truly good split" I've ever seen.
